What did they say?
Everyone speaks English don’t they? Not exactly. Not everyone. Not the same way. The pronunciation, structure of sentences and pacing of conversation differs - even in the US the country where everyone is expected to speak English, American English.
But anyone who has traveled the US - talked with people in California, New York, Texas, Georgia and Maine can tell you that American English isn't all the same. A recent Business Insider article presented a series of maps highlighting the different pronunciation of common words around the United States. http://www.businessinsider.com/22-maps-that-show-the-deepest-linguistic-conflicts-in-america-2013-6?op=1 Take a look at the maps and get an idea of how people sound. Be prepared for what you'll hear the next time you travel around the United States.

Howdy! This blog post could not be written much better!
Looking through this article reminds me of my previous roommate!
He continually kept preaching about this. I most certainly will forward this post to him.
Pretty sure he'll have a good read. I appreciate you for sharing!
